More about the image
The striking image on the Amaryllis flower fabric wall hanging is by the Belgian botanical artist Alphonse Goossens, and was taken from his book, Florilegium harlemense, which was published in parts between 1896 and 1901. The illustration is a striking portrait of a red Amaryllis in bloom. Goossens labelled it Vallota Purpurea, although it is now known as Cyrtanthus elatus.
